It’s hard to believe a year has come and gone, what an incredible journey it has been.  As I headed into the hospital, two months before my actual due date, I didn’t believe it was happening.  I even called into the office saying I was going to the hospital, but I would be in later that day.  I thought they would give me some medicine to make the contractions stop and then I would be sent home.  I could not have been more wrong about that.  Jayden arrived on his own time in his own way and my life has been forever changed.  For the parents that are reading this, you know what I mean.  For those of you without children, all I can say is I wish this experience upon you, in your lifetime.

Sleepless nights have drifted away, now giggles and squeals of delight filled our home.  Jayden is pure JOY.  He fills Dzifa and my heart with more love than we ever knew possible.  Dzifa is my rock and the foundation of our family.  It is no surprise that he is a loving, playful and attentive father to Jayden.  It means so much to me that Jayden will be raised with the kind of father I had growing up.

As Jayden has approached his one year birthday we have watched him blossom.  He has grown from 3 pounds 15 ounces to over 20 pounds.  There is anything preemie about him anymore.  He is all boy, with a curious mind.  He is a crawler, climber and soon to be walker.   I am looking forward to all the years ahead.
